Paint/Create Your Own Wearable Masterpiece! Carrie Schmitt with Guest Instructor Ariel Adkins from Artfully Awear
Celebrate Painting, Body Adornment and Sisterhood!Carrie’s joyful painting and mixed media workshops focus on the themes of empowering, healing and celebrating our creativity together by nurturing mind, body, spirit and sisterhood. This year the theme is Celebrating Our Sacred Selves through Body Adornment.
Join Carrie and Ariel Adkins from Artfully Awear for a truly one of a kind experience. Ariel travels all over the world creating outfits inspired by artwork in museums. Her project is truly inspirational with a personal story she will share. We will reference some of the Masters of Fine Art for inspiration through books or on-line resources to create unique painted wearable outfits. In addition to painting, this will be a day of reflecting, storytelling and sharing.
Techniques explored will be intuitive painting, unique mark making, collaging, using gold leaf, incorporating mantras and written words, and more. We will discuss how to create personalized art that transforms and inspires one’s self and others.
