Off the Cuff – Enamel for your home

Description:

Enamel can be used for more than adorning our bodies but for our walls and shelves too! In this workshop you will be provided with wall switch plates, bowls, and sheet metal to create colorful enamel work for your home. Combine the enamel with painted acrylic boards for fabulous dimensional wall art! Of course, metal will be provided for wearable pieces too!

Techniques:

• Preparation of metal for enameling
• Application of powdered enamels
• Drawing on enamel using graphite
• Enamel painting techniques
• Transferring drawings to enamel

  • Kit/Materials Fee – $20 (payable to instructor at class time)
  • Kit fee provides for the following: Copper light switch covers, copper bowls, copper sheet, blank copper shapes, powder enamels of various colors, adhesive, enamel acrylic paints, enamel watercolor paints, china paints, brushes, paint palettes, boards for painting backgrounds, acrylic paints, all hardware for assembly, dust, mask, kiln and all firing tools.
