Tom Sarmo

I’m a Denver artist/illustrator and teacher, born and raised in Colorado. I create narrative artworks for galleries, illustrate professionally, and often teach art and illustration workshops. In other words, I love communicating my thoughts and ideas by making fantastical pictures–and I enjoy teaching others how to do the same. I’ve illustrated professionally for over 30 years. My work has included character design for the animated film and video game industries and illustrations for children’s books. My privately commissioned artworks are in collections across the United States and in Europe, and original artworks are available at Helikon Gallery and Studios and Creator Mundi in Denver, Colorado and Nahcotta Gallery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I’m very dedicated to sharing knowledge. In addition to teaching at Art Makers Denver, I provide workshops and presentations on illustration techniques for students ages 16 to adult at Foothills Art Center in Golden, Colorado.
